We look forward to the group's coffees every season, and over the course of working with the group for more than a decade, we've developed not just a sourcing relationship, but also friendships with the group's farmers and leadership.

This past May, Aprocafé co-director Pedro Isaias Gonzales was tragically killed in a car accident. Pedro was a wonderful human, always smiling despite working harder than anyone rightly should, and leaves an immense hole at Aprocafé and the greater San Pedro community.

Pedro also leaves behind a family - his wife Julia, daughters Esther and Julia, and son Marco.
Along with the immense sadness, the reality is that Pedro was the primary breadwinner, and we do want to do our best to support them through this loss. Huckleberry is planning to send $1 from every Aprocafé retail bag directly to Pedro's family, but we also wanted to give our community the opportunity to assist the family further.

Each month we'll compile donations from this page and send the funds directly to Julia, along with donations from our coffee sales.
